Radiesse® acts as a dermal filler, to restore volume to the hands, making them appear youthful and attractive. RADIESSE® is a semi-solid, cohesive injectable filler made from calcium hydroxylapatite, a substance that occurs naturally in the body and is the primary mineral constituent of bone and teeth. The semi-solid nature of this filler is created by suspending calcium hydroxylapatite in a gel carrier. This gel gives Radiesse it’s initial volume replacement ability and plumping effect.
Approximately two to three months after the treatment, the gel carrier begins to be absorbed by the body while the calcium beads of the filler remain to allow the body to build collagen to fill in the spaces. The calcium is also bio-degradable, and as it gradually breaks down, the newly produced collagen remains. As calcium hydroxylapatite occurs naturally in the body, there is minimal bad inflammation that arises from this treatment as it integrates well with our existing tissues.
RADIESSE® is indicated for subdermal injection for the correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, and for restoration and/or correction of the signs of facial fat loss in the cheek area and lower face. This product can help those with facial lipoatrophy or for hand rejuvenation.

Radiesse stimulates your body’s own collagen production through CaHA-induced biostimulation. After injection, the CaHA microspheres form a “scaffold” that provides mechanical stimuli triggering fibroblasts to produce collagen for volume that lasts longer.
