EYE BAGS
Eye bags are due to herniation of fat between the eye and the bony orbital rim. This can come with age or be present from young due to genetic factors. Depending on the serverity of these, we manage with Dermal Fillers, Radiofrequency or laser ablation.
CAUSES OF EYE BAGS
Eyebags is commonly developed as one ages. This is due to the weakening of muscles & tissues around eye area. The accumulation of fats & fluid in the spaces below eyes causes puffy eyes. Other factors causing eyebags include lifestyle such as high salt diet, stress and lack of sleep.
Although it is rarely a sign of major illness, eyebags make one look tired and haggard.
TEAR TROUGHS
The tear trough is an anatomical indentation sitting just between the cheek and the lower eye. While considered a normal structure, this groove can deepen with age, accentuating the hollowing and lethargic appearance.
The main form of management of tear troughs is with the use of fillers - the hollow is filled subtly to blend the lid-cheek junction and smooth out any irregularities.
DARK EYE CIRCLES
Dark eye circles - or the panda eye look - can be due to several reasons, including thin under eye skin, visible vasculature under the skin, increased pigmentation, Skin laxity and wrinkling.

What Causes Dark Circles?
Dark circles under the eyes are usually caused by being tired. Sometimes, what appear to be dark circles under your eyes may merely be shadows cast by puffy eyelids or hollows under your eyes that develop as a normal part of aging. While dark circles under the eyes usually aren't a medical problem, they can contribute to a less present and alert apprearance.
TYPES OF DARK EYE CIRCLE
VASCULAR
Poor microcirculation of the blood and lymphatic system around the eye. They appear bluish/purplish. This is especially obvious in allergic rhinitis with congested nose and slow lymphatic drainage around the eyes.
PIGMENTARY
Accumulation of melanin (skin pigment) due to sun exposure. As the skin is very thin around the eyes, any excess pigments will cause dark circles to be obvious.
STRUCTURAL
Due to the nature of bone structure. The shadowing and indentation arising from deep sunken eye socket can produce a prominent tear trough, thus making dark circles more apparent.
TREATMENTS OF DARK EYE CIRCLE
